Alpha Quadrant

The Alpha Quadrant is one of four sections of the Milky Way galaxy. Most of the United Federation of Planets is located within this quadrant. Other major races present in the Alpha Quadrant include the Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, Tzenkethi, Talarians, Ferengi, Tholians, Breen, and the Xindi.
An artifical wormhole, created by a race of aliens worshipped by the Bajorans as the "Prophets", provides a stable conduit between the Alpha Quadrant and the Gamma Quadrant.
