Personality
Through his freelance and pirate experiences over the years, Chet has learned to be impatient and cold with other people. He does not like to barter and spends little time with petty talk. He believes that a character's actions are more important than mere words. In combat, however, he is the perfect soldier. His naturally advanced biology and augmentations give him superior decision-making abilities and unparalleled physical prowess. Whether in space or on the ground, Chet dominates his opponents and never shows mercy. His opponents suffer an amazing 89% death rate. Despite his ruthlessness, he is honorable and will not attack those who pose no threat. He will ignore old or weak persons, women and children, and those unable to defend themselves. He searches for the ultimate prey and won't pay any mind to lesser species. On a lighter note, he holds a soft spot for humanoid females and his desire to mate and reproduce has grown over the years. His human upbringing early in life has given him the desire for a potential wife and mating partner and he has found that he is particularly attracted to Klingon women.
Race/Cultural Background
Yautja (Predator): Chet is a physical giant. Though not as big as Gorn, Yautja are superior fighters with amazing speed, reflexes and physical endurance. Biologically their bodies can absord a tremendous amount of injury before they are incapacitated; their bone-density is ten times that of Humans and their blood is self-regenerating. Similar to the Klingon species, Yautja have redundant organ systems and are immune to all but the highest level phaser/disruptor fire. They are more technologically advanced than any known species except the Borg, and see themselves as the "fathers" of the Alpha quadrant. Yautja typically live 300-350 years.
Biography
In The Beginning...
Chet was officially "born" at the Regula XIV orbital laboratories in the year 2375. He was the product of several attempts by Starfleet to re-engineer and study extinct species, a project called "New Life". Chet was the only successful clone created in the project's five-year lifespan and it was ultimately shut down and blacklisted several years later. He was cloned using captured Borg nanite technology and existing DNA found from an archeological dig on Earth in Gunniston, CO. Carbon dating places the original DNA sample and artifacts around the year 2008 and it was unanimously thought by Starfleet that the Yautja species became extinct around or shortly after this time.
At first, Chet lived a happy life. The two researchers in charge of his cloning project, Dr. Bob Cygin and his wife Dr. Dana Flit, lovingly adopted and raised him to the best of their ability. As a baby, Chet was a super-child. At the age of 3 months he was already walking and showed superb coordination and physical strength, unlike any other species encountered by Starfleet. Research also noted that even at this early age Chet began to show signs of aggression and ruthlessness.
Childhood
An excerpt from one of Dr. Flit's logs -
"..I came home today and Chet was playing with his holo-swords and phasers as usual, but something was different...he quickly ran to his room and came back to show me, what I can only describe as a necklace..made from tribble skeletons! I screamed and ran to his room where the remains of the tribbles lay in a bloody mess on the floor..I turned to Chet to chastize him, only....he had the happiest smile and look of pride on his face....my lord he is only one year old and skinning tribbles to death! I must notify my husband, Dr. Cygin. -END OF LOG"
Fearing Chet's termination by Starfleet, the two doctors concealed his eccentric behavior for many years. In his early years, Chet was isolated to the orbital facility where his foster parents worked. He was very sociable, in a strange way, but many of the Humans and Andorians on the base feared him because of his appearance, and this saddened Chet deeply. He spent much of his time in the holodecks, alone, where he learned about Human customs and society, and the other wonders of the galaxy. Sadly, there was no information about his species or homeworld and Chet soon began to believe that he was the last of his kind. At age 6, Chet met his first friend, an Orion child named Callie who was dropped off by a Federation transport one day and abandoned. Callie had come from a rough life of slavery and she soon befriended Chet...they became best-friends for several years.
At age 9, Chet was full-grown. To say he was intimidating was an understatement. He stood 7'4 with a rock-hard muscular build and weighed over 400lbs. His hair had grown from baby dreds to full shoulder-length locks and his nails were 4-inch long razors. Although he had learned to quell his craving for the Hunt in the holodeck, his parents became increasingly worried that he might become dangerous. One day soon after, with sadness, his parents told him they were sending him away on a shuttlecraft. With small beady eyes, Chet looked at them and cried. He wailed (roared) loudly and begged them to let him stay but their word was final. Saying goodbye to Callie one last time, he boarded the shuttlecraft and began his voyage into the stars. Told never to come back, he had nowhere to go and noone to talk to.
Into the Void
To say the least, Chet was devestated, but he also looked forward to a new life. The shuttle had been programed on autopilot to take him to the outer colonies near Klingon space but it was a long journey at warp 2. Chet used the free time to learn how to pilot and command his shuttlecraft. He quickly discovered that his superior reflexes and intuition made him an excellent pilot. He also learned to master computer flight systems and advanced engineering concepts that he also had a niche for. As he approached the outer colonies, Chet's shuttle was attacked and boarded by Maquis pirates under the command of Torran Don. Torran ordered boarding parties aboard the shuttle and demanded Chet's surrender, but he was sadly overmatched. The battle that ensued was savage. Using only hand-to-hand combat, Chet shredded his opponents limb from limb and turned the shuttle into a bloody mess. In two minutes he had killed, skinned and hung all ten of Torran's crew. These were Chet's first kills as a Yautja adult and he scarred his face with the mark of the warrior.
When the dust settled, Chet abandoned his crippled shuttle and commandeered the Maquis ship, named The Lotus. It was a small Peregrine-refit class fighter that had been enlarged to hold a crew of 12. Chet spent much time becoming familiar with the ship's systems and weapons, and after mastering the controls, changed course and headed to Klingon space. He had heard rumors of beautiful Klingon women near the Kaleb system and he longed for a companion while he traveled the stars.
Serving the Empire
Upon arrival at the Kaleb II Klingon outpost, Chet forged a new beginning. His first encounters with Klingons turned into a series of ruthless brawls. The Klingons, fearful of his physique and hostile to strangers, often teased and goaded him into fights to prove himself. After going undefeated and killing several opponents in combat, he at last earned his respect and was offered a position aboard the IKS H'Toq, a K'Vort-class bird of prey. Chet quickly accepted and took the position of assistant gunnery commander. He performed so well at his post that he was promoted to the rank of commander and promptly after became the ship's first officer. At the battle of Hun'Gi in 2384, Chet's captain was killed in the opening barage and he was forced to take command of the H'Toq. Rallying his forces against superior Federation numbers, he successfully commanded his task force to victory while recording 14 Federation ship kills and minimal Klingon losses. After returning to Qo'Nos, word of his victory spread across the Empire and he became a glorified legend amongst their people.
In 2385, Chet met with Chancellor Martok of the Klingon High Council. Martok had been closely watching Chet's service and records and was immensely impressed by his victory at Hun'Gi. He offered him his choice of command and Chet continued his service aboard a new prototype battleship named the IKS Noriega (named after his favorite 20th century pirate). The assignment, however, was not what he had hoped. Chet quickly became bored with shakedown missions and test-fire simulations and longed for real combat against honorable foes. He spoke to members of his crew and they unanimously decided to abandon the Empire in search of their own glory. He dropped off those of his crew that did not consent at a nearby Klingon planet and Chet and a small skeleton crew headed for Federation space to do glorious battle. His disdain and anger at Starfleet for discarding him early in life forced him to seek revenge, at all costs.
More to come.
Hobbies
Enjoys the Hunt (Klingons, Aliens and Humans preferably) and most sports games. Also is attracted to activities involving killing. Likes to watch battle films, his favorite is an old 1990s film called "Predator".
Political Ideology
Chet feels abandoned and rejected by his parents and Starfleet. He doesn't care about any empire, government or form of law and he answers only to himself.
Service Records
Chet is a freelance bounty hunter and has commanded many different vessels and crews over the last few years. He has a perfect combat record with 168 ship kills and 0 losses.
Skills/Flaws
Primary Skill
Hunter: Is skilled in all aspects of personal and ship combat and has perfected the art of killing. Has engineering knowledge to supplement those skills in ship-based engagements. Prefers hand-to-hand combat (any bladed weapon) because it is more honorable but will occasionally use projectile weapons (plasma, phaser, disruptor fire). Has a specialty in tracking and following targets while remaining hidden. Fights to the death every time, no retreat, no surrender.
Secondary Skill
Enhanced Intelligence: The Regula genetics lab not only cloned Chet but attempted to make him smarter by altering his neural pathways. Chet's IQ test scores at the lab showed him to be in the top 1% of all known Vulcan scientists. His early years in the holodeck gave him a huge general knowledge of the known universe. He has the ability to make complex calculations in his head in only a matter or seconds and the ability to predict his opponent's behavior. He is rarely fooled or decieved and is extremely good at setting traps and ambushes.
Primary Flaw
Arrogant: Over the years since he left the Regula labs, Chet has discovered that he is physically superior to every other race in the Alpha and Beta quadrants. He often hunts other species for sport and considers them sub-servient to him. He quickly dismisses people simply because of their species or any display of weakness, and has passed up many opportunities for friendship.
Secondary Flaw
Cynical: Because Chet was cast away as a child, he is very distrusting of strangers and wary of those around him. This is often compensated for by an over-display of aggression as a defense mechanism. He doesn't keep many friends and lives a relatively solitary life.
