Family History
The McCormick family was one of the first anglos to settle in Texas.
Part of the original Austin 300 colony of Texas. The "Battle of San Jacinto" was fought on the McCormick farm
Great Grandfather was Oren B. McCormick. An engineer and ship designer for Star Fleet in the 23rd. Century. Taught engine design at Star Fleet Academy for several years. Was reassigned as Chief Engineer to the U.S.S. Enterprise on an exchange with Commander Montgomery Scott to allow Commander Scott to teach a special courses class at Star Fleet for one semester.
After reassignment, Commander McCormick returned to ship design. His next project was a radical new ship design which had only a saucer section. The warp drive engines were concealed in the saucer. He served as chief engineer during trial runs and it's first four missions. Tragically his life was cut short when he, the first officer and chief medical officer were killed in the Altair IV incident. Nothing else is known of this event as it is still classified by Starfleet Command.
Both grandfather and father never joined Starfleet or left Earth. They were however instrumental in the design and implimentation of the O.R.P. *Oil Reclamation Project* initiative in Texas and California.

First Assignment
2374 -2375
U.S.S Nelson
Ensign McCormick was assigned aboard the U.S.S. Nelson during the last months of the Dominion War. During the invasion of the Cardassian homeworld the Nelson was severely damaged by a Breen vessel and the bridge crew was lost. Ensign McCormick was able to reroute enough power to the weapons to destroy the Breen ship just as it was preparing to destroy the Klingon battle cruise Prak'tor.
Ensign McCormick was awarded the "Medal of Valor" from the Klingon High Command for his effort. Starfleet also awarded him with a field promotion to Lieutenant Jr. Grade.
A Rise In Rank
2375 -2377
After the war Lieutenant j.g. McCormick was part of an exchange program with the Klingon Empire. He served for two years aboard the afore mentioned "Prak'tor" before returning to active Starfleet duty. He served as first officer aboard the U.S.S. Hico for a period of 10 months before being offered his own command
The First Command
2378 - 2388
In 2378 he was given command of his first ship, the USS Tyler. He served as Captain of the Tyler until it's decommission in 2388.
Return to the Academy
2388 - 2399
Now a Commodore, Mac, as he was called, was assigned to Starfleet to follow in his great-grandfather's footsteps and teach in the engineering department. While at the academy he made many friends in Starfleet Command and quickly rose in the ranks to Admiral. It is also worth noting that when the Commodore returned to the Academy, the pranks returned as well.
Farewell to Old Friends
2399 - 2408
As relations with the Klingon Empire begin to deteriorate Starfleet Command felt someone with his knowledge of the Klingons would be better served out on the line. Although he had mixed emotions over the assignment, many of the Klingons he served with had become his friends, Admiral McCormick's duty to Starfleet and the UFP was his main focus.
A Fleet is Born
2408 - Present
Along with Admiral Chris Danger, Admiral McCormick assumed command of the Lone Star fleet and has enjoyed day to day operations as well as his personal recruitment endeavors.
