Due to his eccentric behavior,Ken is usually one that works in solitude.
However,He is always peace loving and is able to render even the impossible into logic.
Always resorting to diplomancy,leaving force as a last resort.
Because both his parents have been killed by the dominion in DS9.
Ken motive in life is to forever spread the hand of peace for the deserving.
And serve as the hand of justice for the Federation against it's enemies.
Appearance
The looks of a 28 year old,built with brown hair but with blue eyes that show a lot of hidden grief.He is quite tall,an advantage when he is maintaining the warp core.
The Early Years
Ken Reed was born in the year 2348 as the one and only child to Jon Reed, an engineer assigned to Starfleet Command,DS9 and Amelia Largado , his human wife who worked at the same space dock. Being Born in such a time ,Ken grew up in a time of peace.
From young,Ken has be tinkering with his father's tools,forgoing conventional toys which other childern would have played with.
At the age of 12,Ken could already take appart a hover bike and put it back together with ease. Having a father that encouraged his son to take appart the house only honed his engineering skills. Ken alos exceled in his Maths and Sciences.His experiments earning him the name of mad scientist.Thus also resulting in his isolationist behaviour. He is also an avid reader,reading many different books from young. Though many are warp related information. Ken was like a sponge that could soak up all the knowledge he ever encountered. Over the years,his uncanny ability was reconised,thus his ticket to the accademy.
Starfleet Academy
In 2362,he was admitted to Starfleet Academy at the age of 14. He is always isolated to most people who followed the same classes and even some of his professors. He focused primarily on his studies and his interest in sciences,especially warp physics. Although the work was hard he always managed to finish anything thrown at him. Upon entering his 4th year at the Academy in 2366 he was recommended to attend engineering school by his professors. He graduates with degrees in astrophysics,warpphysics and quantiumphysics. On graduation,He is assined to the USS Oceana ,a Niagara-class starship with the rank of ensign .
First Assignment
After he was assigned to the USS Oceana , a Niagara class starship as the junior engineering officer. his captain was pleased with his contributions and and tried to let him do more teamwork. Everything continued as normal with the USS Oceana transporting supplies for a starbase. ken continued to perform well in 2368 and was recommended for a promotion to Lieutenant junior grade. The ship is put on yellow alert and relieved of its duties of shipping supplies,to rescue a cargo shipment under attack by the romulans. The Klingon civil war is concluded with the involvement of the Romulans and the Duras are defeated. The USS oceana being badly damaged,limps back to Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards on Mars in 2369. This results in a long overhaul,one that caused Ken to be transfered off to USS Hood,an Excelsior class starship,where starfleet knows his talents will not be wasted. Sucessful Missions on USS Hood also resulted in Ken being promoted to lieutenant.
Major injuries
In 2372 the USS Hood is part of a taskforce lead by the USS Venture send to assist Deep Space 9 while it is under siege from the Klingons. During this year Ken learns teamwork and is able to save hood from a reactor accident that threatened to blow Hood and a nearby planet up. However,this results in Ken's injury. Thus,Ken earn a medal of comendation,while he is in for a long shore leave.
Last of his family
While recuperating on earth,Ken recives news that DS9 has been attacked by the dominion,worst of all,he recives news that the space station his parents worked for is destroyed,killing his parents along with it.
Ken nearly had a mental breakdown.However,it was then he met the love of his life,Jenny Rea,a nurse in starfleet medical.With her help,ken manages to walk through this dark period of his life.
Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards
After the dominion war,Ken was not reassigned to any starships.Instead,Starfleet command posted him to Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards on Mars,where he meet Dr. Xin Ra-Havreii.Ken was part of the orginal team of engineers who concived the Luna class Deep Space Science Vessel. After 4 years,in 2379,The first ship of the Luna Class,Luna Nx 80101 was launched. Thus being one of Ken most treasured moments in life.
Ken had orginally planed to go to Deneva with Jenny to meet her parents and propose to her.
However,Things change when Ken is posted to USS Aventine,a test bed ship for the latest Federation technology,the paser cannon,and the Quantium slip-stream Drive,as chief engineer in 2380.
Thus Jenny when to Deneva alone,with a promise from Ken that he will follow soon after.
Borg Threat
One year later,on USS Aventine, deep in the Gamma Quadrant, an ancient mystery is solved. One of Earth's first generation of starships,Columbia Nx02, lost for centuries, has been found dead and empty on a desolate planet. But its discovery so far from home has raised disturbing questions, and the answers harken back to a struggle for survival that once tested a captain and her crew to the limits of their humanity. Soon after,all out war broke out between the Federation and the Borg. The Federation and Kilingons,together with their closest allies,could not even slow the Borg Advance. How ever,the joint effort between 3 captians,Jean-Luc Picard of the U.S.S. Enterprise,William Riker of the U.S.S. Titan and Ezri Dax of the U.S.S Aventine,Managed to find the race of which the Borg orginated from,The Caeliar,an advanced peace loving species made of nanobots(like the Borg). With help from The Caeliar,The Borg is Defeated and Transformed into one of the Caeliar. Due to his distingushed Efforts in the Borg invasion,Ken is promoted to Captian and is given his own command,one which starfleet allowed him to choose between the Luna Class,the Sol Class and the Polaris Class,one in which Ken denied after reciving news of Jenny's Death on Deneva while assisting evacuation of the public from the Borg's attack.
Aftermath
After Refusing starfleet's offer of his own command,Starfleet assigned Ken to teach at the accademy,a task he accepted without much enthusim. In the years he taugh at the Accedemy,he produced many fine cadets,however,news of the galaxy is bleak. Firstly,The rising tensions between Alpha Quadrant powers are issiues that can no longer be dismissed. Thus,on 2395,Ken requested his own command from Starfleet.The USS Omnis Arcanum NCC96491,a Hope class Research Science Vessel which will be completed in the near future,currently Ken is assigned on a Centaur class ship.Ken has decided that his efforts would be best served in the 12th Fleet,under Fleet Admiral Arsinoe Scienta
