Personality
My’ra is shy and awkward around others, often preferring to work alone. Although timid around others, her scientific curiosity and theorising take precedence and she will often ignore physical danger once in pursuit of knowledge. She is also very compassionate and usually sees the best in others, causing her friends to be very protective of her.

Hobbies and Pastimes
One of the first features of Earth that My’ra noticed was it’s oceans. During her time at Starfleet Academy, she spent much of her time and transporter credits visiting them and loves surfing. While most of her surfing now is done on a holodeck, she still tries to get on real oceans when she can.
Biography
My’ra sh’Telek was born in 2385 on Andoria. Her parents were rigid adherents to Andorian traditions, teaching her their traditions such as the ushaan and finding her a group for the shelthreth. Her zhavey or mother was a highly respected leader among her people and there was expectation from My’ra’s parents that she would follow in her footsteps. My’ra was not as out going as other Andorians, feeling awkward in social situations and rituals, only feeling at home in laboratories or out on her own. After many arguments with her parents, she decided that she could only be herself away from Andoria. She travelled to Earth, her first time away from Andoria, dropped the traditional "sh" from her clan name and in 2403 enrolled in Starfleet Academy.

While My’ra was a gifted student, she was visibly uncomfortable during her first year. While she passed her psych test, she was referred to the Academy counsellor to discuss her problems. As she had never left Andoria, she found San Francisco far to warm and the different cultures at the Academy intimidating.
With some help, especially from fellow cadet Jack Lokyr, she did manage to make friends and have some fun. She is still a wallflower and somewhat awkward around others, but is more comfortable with that. She graduated in 2407 with degrees in exochemistry, probability mechanics and transwarp theory.
