Mission Statement
Welcome to XL Corp. For those familiar with us from the STO thread, please take note; for those new to the fleet and our concept, this page will serve as an introduction.
This is first and foremost a pirate fleet. We are composed of independent warriors and entrepreneurs and as such, our operations will be spread out and include almost every possible aspect of gameplay. The diversity of our members will allow each of us to profit greatly from this. Although our roles in gameplay may differ, we all work towards the common goal of attaining wealth and glory across other empires. Our gameplay style is heavily centered around trading, exploration and other kinds of PvE. This practice will allow us to outfit the best weapons, trade the rarest goods, and find the most exotic species. Gaining wealth will also allow us to obtain resources and construct starbases which is important as well and the fleet's small size allows us to coordinate better and conduct operations with relatively good stealth. We will be participating in PvP also at a brisk pace. Pirates aren't known for their diplomatic skills and we will no doubt be fighting for territory rights across the map. Come ready to fight!

Recruiting
General Policies
XL Corp. recruits the best smugglers, arms dealers, and slave handlers in the galaxy! We screen all applicants but once approved, membership is instant and holds no commitments. Members are free to leave the fleet and rejoin at any time (on good terms). We are looking for creative and outgoing people to game with and it should be reflected in your player character. Often times we will be playing a villanous or renegade role against other players and fleets so please beware of this when considering us and have a thick skin. We generally prefer people who have Star Trek gaming and film experience but we are open to new trekkies all the time. XL Corp. is also a good fleet for those who maybe aren't obsessed with Star Trek but are more into other aspects of Sci-Fi. Many of our characters come from different film and game genres and we look forward to creating and customizing as many new races as we can using the STO Character Creator. Although we will part of the Klingon faction, we accept all character races, even Federation ones.
Members who wish to join must post and introduce themselves on our STO forum thread, then post on our private forum, and finally submit their registration form (found on our website). You will be contacted shortly after.
Qualifications
To be eligible for registration, you must have the following:
- 17+ y/o - We talk about too much sex and violence for minors to be around (sorry). This fleet is for mature, open-minded members. We do not tolerate drama, flaming or any other immature activity.
- Decent Knowledge of ST - You will be lost in some our conversations if you haven't watched the series or films.
- Openness to Role Playing (until launch) - You don't have to but it's encouraged because...what else will we talk about while we wait?
- A Disdain for Authority - Although you will be given a rank and placement within the Corp. upon registration, these are strictly for combat purposes to ensure the chain of command and efficiency in battle. Otherwise, you will not answer to anyone in this fleet (except 2Good or Callie, we share command). We normally don't give orders and don't really like people who do.
- A Basic Understanding of Trade/Barter Economics - This will be a focal point of our fleet upon launch. We plan to buy/sell/trade any and everything we can get our hands on and I would like people who understand trading (maybe some work history in sales or retail) and can ensure maximum profit on transactions.
- Willingness to Explore - New technologies and species will be discovered through exploration and it will be a crucial part of gameplay according to Cryptic. As such, we will be exploring the crap out of the universe and laying claim to as many planets and sectors as possible. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE!

Command Structure
General Policies
Pirates don't believe in authority, especially the ones in XL... But unfortunately, all fleets must have a hierachy, even pirate ones. We have ranks from E-1 thru E-3 for the new enlisted players and O-1 thru 0-9 for the more experienced ones. Ranks do not affect gameplay directly unless in combat. Once the phasers start blasting, all members will take orders from their respective COs to ensure efficiency in battle. Detailed information on ranks can be found here.

RP in XL
General Policies
XL Corp. is a moderate to heavy role-playing (RP) fleet. There is not much Star Trek canon to support many of our freelance ideas so we must create a lot of the material. We do in-character posts frequently on both the STO forums and our private forum. In-character posts are always denoted using any combination of the symbols < ( [ { : *, italics, or text color change. Players are encouraged to participate but it is not a requirement of membership. It is there for those who want to add to the RPG experience.
Our RP style is rated M and includes graphic violence, suggestive themes, and adult-content. Most of our controversial content is password protected in our private forums so you may choose not to look at it if you wish. Our members are all over the age of 18 and we do not allow minors to join our fleet. We encourage all players (incl. non-members) to visit our RP threads and contribute if they like.
The Shop
As part of our RP gameplay, we own and operate a web shop full of useful items that players (even non-members) can buy and trade for. Our product list includes many ships, weapons and engines. New items will be added on a monthly basis and it will soon have a lot of variety. It is a work-in-progress and we are hoping to add a fully functional PHP script, personal accounts, and form-processed ordering. For now, ordering must be done on our STO forum thread or our private forum (in the Drydock category). If you want to participate and you see an item you like, please send us your order requests!
Communications
All XL Corp. members communicate mainly via forum, email and instant messenger (MSN). We also have setup an X-Fire account for our fleet and we will be using that heavily for in-game sessions. We currently do not have a voice server but we are looking into it and hopefully before launch we will have one active. For now, the fastest way to communicate with us is through emails. Our members are very active in online gaming and we check our email accounts several times daily. For players not registered with XL Corp., forum posting is the preferred method of contact. Guests can post either on the STO forums or on our private forums. Please leave contact information so we can communicate further.

XL Corp is a never-ending WIP...we need members to contribute to our forums and add their ideas. Please stop by and introduce yourself if you like.
